Beaches in Turkey … Let’s grab your suitcases and go!
You can’t wait to lie down on a hot beach and sunbathe, aren’t you? Wait for it! You are almost there!
We decided to propose you some alternative beaches;
Bodrum is one of the most popular holiday destinations in Turkey with its beautiful beaches on gorgeous bays. In my opinion these turquoise clear bays are gifts from heaven. Probably the most famous one among them is Gümbet and it is only 3 km far from Bodrum. The beach which is used by both hotels and restaurants is clean and the sea is warm.
Without doubt one of the most famous and peaceful bays of the peninsula is Gümüşlük. For the ones who don’t know, the locals found some silver coins at the area and thought there might be a silver mine around and name the bay as Gümüşlük.
For the ones who don’t like crowds, another silent and peaceful bay is Yalıkavak. My favourite one has always been Yalkavak. You can see the windmills and experience the untouched country atmosphere of Bodrum. However I have to mention that this area is developing so fast because Türkbükü and the beach clubs which are popular among the celebrities and high society are very near.
If you want to change course to Izmir and go to Çeşme our first advise for you to visit Ilıca beach.
With its white long beach and the thermal waters spring from the sea Ilıca is one of the most attractive beaches in the world. Especially for the families with children that beach is wonderful. The sea is warm and whether you walk 200-300 m through the water it is still shallow.
Another bay you can easily fall in love is Altınkum. It’s 10 km far from the city centre. The sea might be rather cool but it has a very rare beauty.
The beach clubs offer enough fun for you and your family. It’s mostly peaceful and looks like Maldive islands.
If sunbathing and swimming isn’t enough for you and you want to surf as you are in Çeşme then we advise you to visit Pirlanta beach.
The wind never stops blowing and there are always waves there. It is an ideal place for the surfers.
If we go further to south we meet Fethiye where green and blue come together. Honestly I suggest you to travel the area with a boat. The bays of Fethiye seems more beautiful from the sea. If you don’t like boats our advice will be Katrancı Bay. You can camp in the pinewood, rent a bungalow and swim throuh the pine trees. The pine trees look as if they grow in the sea. Green and blue sea has an unbelievable beauty.
Another fantastic beach is Çaliş Beach. It isn’t so far from the city centre so has a lot of visitors. It’s said to be one of the special places where you can watch the sunset. But don’t forget to be very careful on the beach since it is the hatchery of the caretta carettas.
When we talk about Fethiye we have to mention Ölüdeniz. It is a very long, white beach where is always sunny. Every year thousands of tourists come to the region just to explore this beach. The crystal clear, blue green colour of the sea amazed everybody.
